Melva Dean Wood, 69, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late David Guy Wood and Ethel Dile Wood, was born May 19, 1954 in Jefferson County, KY. She died at 4:43 A.M., Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Louisville.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. Melva retired from Cox Interior and was a former cosmetologist. She loved her family and was a nice and genuine person wherever she was.

2 daughters: Amanda Wilson & fiancé, Cesar Perez and Angela Newton & husband Nicholas of Campbellsville
5 grandchildren: Saylor Wilson, Brady Cook & wife Meleah, Brylee Rainwater & husband Jeremy, Brenton Newton and Bryzon Newton;
2 great-grandchildren: Cora Cook and Beau Rainwater (and one expected great-grandchild)
3 sisters & 4 brothers: Norma Wright & husband Kelly, Helen Rainwater, Sue Hunt & husband Jim, George Wood & wife Sharon, Joe Wood & wife Vickie, Guy Wood & wife Rebecca and Bobby Wood & wife Rebecca

Melva was also preceded in death by two brothers: Les Wood and Raymond Wood.
