OBITS

Evelyn Marie Taylor Edwards, 82, Greensburg, KY

Evelyn Edwards, 82, of Greensburg, KY,

daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle Taylor was born March 19, 1941 in Williamsburg, KY and departed this life surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, December 30, 2023.

Evelyn had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church. She worked as a car hop at Parkette Burgers and made parachute packs in a factory before raising her children. She prepared meals for a multitude of patients and staff while working eighteen years in the Dietary Department of Jane Todd Crawford Hospital before retiring to care for her mother. Evelyn loved being outdoors, surrounded by beautiful flowers and anything regarding Elvis Presley. She loved and nurtured her family, many of their friends, and anyone who needed a helping hand.

She spent her life loving her husband Richard who preceded her in death in 2011. She loved to beat him playing cards whenever possible. She  raised their daughters to be independent thinkers who are outspoken and resilient while standing up for themselves and against bullies. She sewed beautiful quilts that will warm generations of her family.
