Alta Mae Hargan, 88, Vine Grove, KY

 
Alta Mae Hargan, 88, of Vine Grove, KY, a daughter of the late Ollie Mulquin and Nellie Hutcherson Mulquin, was born Friday, March 22, 1935 in Hardin County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and throughout her life, Alta remained devoted to serving the local community and was an active member of Stovall United Methodist Church. She lived by the motto “One day at a time.”

 

Alta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Russell “Pug” Hargan; one sister, Mary Helen Mulquin; one brother, Hubert Mulquin; and a great-nephew, Shelby.

1 son & daughter-in-law: Bill & Carol Hargan of Greensburg
1 daughter & son-in-law: Karen & John Clay of Georgia
4 grandchildren: Tabitha Ervin & husband Brian and Jon Hargan & wife Kara of Greensburg, KY; Dan Clay & wife Ashton and Bailey Turner & husband Tommy of Georgia

12 great-grandchildren: Breely and Timber Ervin, Kylee, Russ, Weldon, Ollie, and Jeremiah Hargan, Delaney and Keanan Clay, Thomas, Lizzy Mae and James Turner

Sister-in-law: Mary Lou Hargan Morgan

Special nieces & nephews: Mia & Monty Bradshaw and Jamie Hargan & children

 

In addition to her immediate family, Alta is remembered by her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hargan Morgan; a special niece, Mia Bradshaw, her husband, Monty; as well as her special nephew, Jamie Hargan and his children: Anna, Owen, Ben, and Mary Elise; and a host of extended family and friends.

 

She loved to bake and was well known for her Italian cream cake. Her friendly, gentle nature and her selfless spirit made her a cherished figure within Vine Grove.………………………….

 
Funeral Service: Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10:00amCT at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove
 
Burial: Stovall United Methodist Church Cemetery
 
Visitation: Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4:00pm-7:00pmCT and Friday after 8:00amCT
