Rollin "Gene" Underwood, 91, Campbellsville, KY

 

Rollin “Gene” Underwood, 91, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Leslie Underwood and Elsie Berry Underwood Pierce, was born July 22, 1932 in Taylor County. He died at 6:35pmET on Sunday, October 22, 2023 in Elizabethtown.

 

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

 

Gene was an employee of Thor Power Tool and later retired from Fermi-Lab. Gene loved his family very much. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bowling, car shows and bird watching.

 

He united in marriage to Shirley “Cindy” Wright and she preceded him in death. He later united in marriage to Mary Katherine Hudson June 23, 1999.

 

SURVIVORS:

His wife: Mary  K. Underwood of Campbellsville

1 son & 4 daughters: Ron Underwood & wife Kristine of Avondale, Arizona, Debbie Craft & husband Tom of Lakeland Florida, Anita Katherine Watts of Smyrna, Tennessee, Linda Stuteville & husband Sam of Sonora, KY and Julie Curtis & husband David of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee

7 grandchildren: Carla Richardson, Cory Craft, Troy Vinson, Emily Watts, Chris Lucas, Levi Curtis and Malia Curtis

16 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild

2 brothers & 2 sisters: Odell Underwood, Kenny Lee Pierce, Naomi Hoepner and Louise Manasco

Many other relatives & friends

 

He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Earl Underwood, Gerald “T” Underwood and Howard Underwood.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00pmET at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Bro. Ron Davis and  Bro. Kent Ashley

 

BURIAL: Brookside Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard               

 

VISITATION: Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET and after 10:00amET on Saturday at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home
