Frances Jane “Janie” Marr McCubbins, 64, of the Summersville community of Green County, KY, daughter of the late James and Sally Erma Underwood Marr, was born on April 9, 1959 in Larue County, KY. She departed this life on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at her home.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Janie was a loving wife, mama and nana – not to just her own grandchildren, but to the numerous children she helped take care of over the years as well.

Her husband of nearly 49 years: Tommy McCubbins

2 daughters: Stephanie McCubbins and Chasity McCubbins Price

8 grandchildren: Taylor & Grace McCubbins, Tammy Cundiff, Thomas & Samantha Price, Laura McCubbins, Serenity Whitehead, and Matthew Whitehall

6 great-grandchildren: Case McCubbins, Oaklie McCubbins, Maddie Cundiff, Drew Cundiff, Lainey Price and Noelle Price (& expecting the arrival of 2 great-grandsons)

1 sister: Charlotte Hefley

Brother-in-law: Pat Burd

1 step-brother: Perry Milby

1 step-sister: Lana Pruitt

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Zayden Leslie Whitehead; two sisters: Vickie Tucker and Linda Burd; one niece, Veronica Lynne “Lynnie” MacDonald; her step-mother, Joyce Marr; and one step-brother, Brad Milby.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11:00amCT at Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with Bro. Taylor McCubbins, Bro. Gordon Berry and Bro. Terry Shirley officiating

Burial: Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery

Visitation: Tuesday from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Wednesday after 7:00amCT 

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.
