Phillip Daryl Sexton, 70, of Prestonsburg, KY (a native of Barren County, KY) and a son of the late Challman Sexton and Vada Garmon Sexton, was born on February 20, 1953 in Metcalfe County, KY. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his residence.

Phillip had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of several bass fishing clubs. Phillip enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing and cooking. His dog, Finnegan, was his best friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sexton; one son, Phillip Daryl Sexton, Jr.; two step-sons: Stephen Johnson and Gary Green; and one brother, Harold Wayne Sexton.

6 grandchildren: Austin and Megan Honeycutt, Aleigha Hare, Jordan Hare, Chelsea Hare, Derek Newsome and Patrick Johnson

1 great-granddaughter: Marleigh Richardson

1 brother & sister-in-law: Jerry & Darlene Sexton of Cave City

2 sisters & brothers-in-law: Dianne & Douglas Gaines of Tennessee and Elaine & Brett Thompson of Hardyville

His best friend: Happy Jack Howard & family

Graveside Service: Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:30pmCT at the Hiseville Cemetery
