John Douglas Milby, 93, Greensburg, KY

 

John Douglas Milby, 93, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Roy Milby and Irene Wilcoxson Milby, was born May 4, 1930 and passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Greensburg.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer and worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable Company. He loved fishing, watching NASCAR, and watching University of Kentucky Basketball.

 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Margaret Hinton Milby on June 17, 2005 having united in marriage on May 27, 1949; a son-in-law, Dr. Joseph “Joe” Miller; a sister, Nancy Carol Yates; and a brother, Bruce Milby.

1 daughter: Joan Ellen Miller of Campbellsville

1 son & daughter-in-law: Kevin Milby & Megan of Danville

4 grandchildren: Beth Pike & Dustin of Danville, Natasha Milby & Alyssa of Lexington, John David Pickett of Campbellsville, and Trae Pickett of Elizabethtown

3 great-grandchildren: Keightley Pickett, Fairington Pickett, Luna Pike

1 brother & sister-in-law: Roy Wayne Milby & Mary of Tennessee

Funeral Service: Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Bro. Brenson Bishop, Bro. Kevin Brantley, and Bro. Freddie Norris officiating

 

Burial: Green County Memory Gardens

 

Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Friday at the funeral home 

 

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Crossroads Youth Program or the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
