James Robert “Jim” Gilbert, 76 of Bradfordsville, KY, the son of the late Russell and Ruth (Williams) Gilbert, was born April 6, 1947 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Friday, July 21, 2023 in Elizabethtown at Signature Healthcare.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Campbellsville First Church of God and was a construction superintendent. He enjoyed farming, gardening and talking for hours on the phone with a chew of Red Man in his mouth and loved his German Shepherd, Sable.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four children: Melissa Dawn Gilbert, John Russell Gilbert, Clifford Kyle Collett and David Ryder Collett.

His wife: Betty (Hall) Gilbert
4 children: Cynthia Thomas, James Michael Gilbert, David Shawn Gilbert & wife Tammy, Laura Savannah Gilbert & fiance’ Chris.
2 sisters: Elizabeth “Libby” Tedder & husband Evan, and Virginia “Ricky” Stubbs
1 brother: Bobby Gilbert
9 grandchildren: Andrew (Sheridan) Gilbert, Rachael (Shawn) Gilbert, Matthew (Hannah) Gilbert, Megan Gilbert, Amber Gilbert, Jarred (Paige) Gilbert, Chase (Claira) Gilbert, Angelina Gilbert and Whitley (Josh) Leloup
