Betty Gay Buchanan Lowe, 95, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Fred Buchanan and Evelyn Cheuvront Buchanan, was born June 12, 1928 in Campbellsville, KY and departed this life on Sunday, June 18, 2023 in Campbellsville.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and elder of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She attended Campbellsville College where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and later received her Master’s Degree from Western Kentucky University. She was a retired school teacher for the Green County Board of Education after 27 years of service. Mrs. Lowe was also a member of the Green County Homemakers, and the Rod Lowe Post #124 Auxiliary.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Russell Wilson Lowe on August 31, 2000 having united in marriage on December 22, 1947.

1 son & daughter-in-law: Billy Joe & Becky Lowe of Greensburg

2 daughters & sons-in-law: Beverly & Bill Hayes of Louisville and Jan & Bruce Ponzo of North Carolina

1 sister: Jane Routin of Campbellsville

Sister-in-law: Betty B. Lowe of Greensburg

7 grandchildren: April Parris, Jon Lowe, Quinn Lowe, Chris Lowe, JoAnne Beard, Colin Hayes, and Lauren Hayes 

11 great-grandchildren

A host of other relatives & friends

Mrs. Lowe was also preceded in death by two brothers: Bob Buchanan and Tom Buchanan.
