Elsie Carter Cook, 93, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Finis and Hattie Chaney Babgy, was born on February 19, 1930 in Green County. She departed this life on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. Elsie was a former seamstress for Union Underwear in Campbellsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Carter. She later united in marriage to V.L. Cook, who also preceded her in death.

3 daughters: Bonnie Poland and Connie Johnson of Greensburg, and Frances Bell of Campbellsville
8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren & 12 great-great grandchildren
1 brother: Johnny Bagby of Greensburg
A host of nieces & nephews, and other relatives & friends
She was also preceded in death by one son, Walter Ronnie Carter; eight brothers: Roy Bagby, Coy Bagby, Oris Toodlum Bagby, Joe Bagby, Mac Bagby, Linnie Bagby, Henry Wood Bagby and Lapsley Bagby; and one sister, Mary George.
