Opal Lea Wood of Campbellsville, KY daughter of the late Earl E. Cox and Flossie Ella Cave Cox, was born in Taylor County, KY. She died at 2:20 P.M., Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in Campbellsville.

She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. Opal was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

SURVIVORS:

2 daughters & 1 son: Shiela Newcomb & husband Sam of Frankfort, Sharon Arrowood & husband Henry of Smyrna, Tennessee and Steve Wood & companion DeLisa Patterson of Campbellsville

5 grandchildren: Ryan Newcomb & wife Ashley of Frankfort, Daniel Arrowood & wife Kristy and April Sneed & husband David of Smyrna, Tennessee, Brittany Wood-Perkins & husband Isaiah, and Ashley Thomas & husband Brandon of Campbellsville

5 great-grandchildren: Elle Newcomb, Claudia Newcomb, Sawyer Arrowood, Amity Parker and Brylee Sneed 

Several other great-grandchildren and many other relatives & friends

The family would like to thank the staff and employees of Grandview Nursing and Rehab for their care and compassion during their mother’s stay.
