Cecil Barkley Coffey of the Little Barren Community, son of the late John Daniel Coffey and Virgie Bagby Coffey, was born on Thursday, June 10, 1939 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, March 31, 2023 at his home.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He worked in the oil fields for 21 years and then retired from Green County Schools after 26 years as a Bus Driver. He also was a farmer for many years.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Jeffries Coffey on January 28, 2022 having united in marriage on February 12, 1972.

1 son: David Brian Coffey of the Little Barren community

1 granddaughter: Cecily Wisdom of the Little Barren community

2 sisters: Margaret Houk and Louise Perry of Greensburg

Mr. Coffey was also preceded in death by four brothers: Richard Coffey, Glen Coffey, Gene Coffey, and Tom Coffey.

Burial: Little Barren Cemetery

Visitation: Sunday from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and Monday after 7:00amCT
