Carlos Lee Bloyd, 89, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, son of the late Walter T. Bloyd and Lillian Hudgins Bloyd, was born on January 14, 1934 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Younger Creek Church. He was a Machinist at Brown and Williamson, and also was a member of the Louisville Masonic Lodge.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Anna Louise Whitlow Bloyd on June 25, 2013 having united in marriage on January 31, 1953.

1 daughter: Kathryn Hart of Louisville

1 son: Bruce Bloyd of Elizabethtown

5 grandchildren: Christopher Colburn, Brandie Blake, Ashley Hart, Kyle Hart, Hunter Bloyd

6 great-grandchildren

2 brothers: Donald Ray Bloyd of Cloverport, Kentucky and James Wendall Bloyd of Leitchfield, Kentucky

A host of other relatives and friends

Mr. Bloyd was also preceded in death by a son and daughter: Stephen Bloyd and Deborah Colburn.

Funeral Service: 1pmCT on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Hockman officiating

Burial: Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery

Visitation: 4pm- 8pmCT on Monday and after 7amCT on Tuesday at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take form of donation to the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
