Marily Higgason Werenskjold, 86, of Prospect, KY, a native of Green County, KY passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022.
Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, compassionate mother, cherished teacher, and an excellent gardener. Born and raised in Greensburg, KY located on the banks of the Green river, she began her education at New Salem, a one room schoolhouse, and graduated from Greensburg High School. She attended Western Kentucky State College and graduated with a BA in Business Education and a Masters at Memphis State. Her lifelong love of teaching spanned dozens of military moves with her family, teaching at Green County HS, KY, Bolton HS, TN, St. Augustine HS, New Orleans, LA, and the Kentucky School for the Blind Louisville, KY, of which she was particularly fond.
Marilyn is predeceased by her parents, Jack and Leanna Higgason and her son Gary Jr.
