John Smothers, 56, of Lebanon, KY, son of the late James Smothers and Eva Mae Mattingly was born January 22, 1966 in Marion County and departed this life on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.

John professed faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith.  He was a former employee of US Chita Co Ltd in Lebanon. He had a passion for UK Basketball and loved collecting Matchbox cars and watching Star Wars with his family.

1 daughter: Tiffany Pickard & husband Brian of Campbellsville, KY

1 son: Nicholas Smothers of Bowling Green, KY

3 grandchildren: Kennedy Pickard, Briley Pickard, and John Abel Pickard, all of Campbellsville

3 sisters: Shirley Baird of Mt. Washington, Shelia Gill of Lexington and Amy Burnside of Bardstown

furry companion: Bootsie

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: James Terry Smothers, Gary Lee Smothers, and Ruth Anne Hagy; and by a nephew, Joseph Robert Hagy.
