Donald J. Murphy, Sr., 70, of Columbia, KY (formerly of Greensburg), son of the late Mary Frances Murphy, was born December 3, 1952 in Oldham County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.
Donald had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Shepherd’s Chapel Church. He was a retired self-employed carpenter, and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army.

11 children: Tanya Marie Murphy, Tara Murphy Morris, Donald Jay Murphy, and James Ketcher all of Minnesota; Donnie Murphy, Dale Murphy, Michael Krebs all of Columbia, KY; and Julie Rushing of Louisville, KY
1 brother & sister: Harold Whitaker of Louisville and Ann Tyler of Florida

Funeral Service: Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00amCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY
Burial: Monday, December 19, 2022 at 10:00amCT at the Lebanon National Cemetery with full military honors
Visitation: After 9:00amCT on Saturday at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family memorial fund which can be made at the funeral home.
