JOHN ALLARD "AL" BRADY, 93, LEBANON, KY

 

John Allard “Al” Brady, 93, the son of the Joseph Patrick and Josephine (Morris) Brady, was born February 28, 1929 in the St. Joe Community of Marion County and departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Lebanon at his home.


He was of the Catholic Faith being of the St. Francis Xavier Parish. He  worked at Ward/Montgomery asphalt paving Co for several years and then Mago Construction paving Co for around 35 years while overseeing a 300 acre farm and sawmill operation. After retiring from all that he helped his sons, Pat and and Danny Brady to build houses for several years and later helped them in their Brady Paving Co until 2016 at the age of 87. 

      
Before getting into asphalt paving with W&M he worked at General Electric in Louisville for five years. Al, as he was known, lived life to the fullest with his family at the top of the list. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music of all kinds, loved the outdoors, enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and restored more than 20 old convertible cars. He was a wine maker, a farmer, and avid shooter of craps on the boat until the age of 91 and was the most compassionate person to everyone. He was also known to be the best storyteller in Marion County.

      
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Pat Brady; seven brothers and sisters: Elizabeth Riney, Borgia Lee, Jim, Mack, Charles, Norris, Donald and Gabe Brady and two sets of twins and two grandchildren: Billy Pat Brady and Robbie Brady.

      
SURVIVORS:

7 children: Danny Brady & wife Ruth, Pamela Brady & husband Ronnie Hill, Loretta Farmer & husband Bobby Joe, John Brady & wife Lisa, Charlotte Rose Mattingly & husband Doug, Timmy “Woody” Brady and Sheila Hagan

1 brother: Bobby Brady & wife Bernice

19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren

A host of other relatives & friends

 

To honor the request of Mr. Brady, cremation rites were entrusted to L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

 

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00amET at the St. Charles Catholic Church and burial will be in the St. Joe Cemetery.

 

Memorials are suggested to the St. Joe Cemetery Fund or Hosparus of Green River and can be made at the funeral home.
