JANICE B. CORBIN, 85, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Janice B. Corbin, 85, of Campbellsville, KY, was born November 8, 1936 in Russell County (Ono Community), KY to the late Athol Brown and Zilma Dunbar Brown. She passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. 

 

She was a retired schoolteacher having taught 30 years, beginning in Russell County in a 2-room schoolhouse and retiring from Campbellsville. Janice was also a Kentucky Colonel. She professed faith in Christ early in life at Square Oak Baptist Church. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and has attended for many years.

 

Janice married her best friend Dennis K. Corbin, whom she met while attending Lindsey Wilson College. They married August 13, 1959 and he preceded her in death May 25, 2013. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother: Glenyce Brown in March 1989, Joyce Luckett in October 2020, and Roger Lee Brown in September 2009. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandma. Her and Dennis loved to travel and visit almost every state including Canada and Nova Scotia. Their favorite trip was traveling by car to Alaska to celebrate their 36th wedding anniversary.

1 son & daughter-in-law: David & Kimberly Corbin of Campbellsville
2 grandchildren
2 great-grandchildren
1 sister: Gladys Kimbler

A host of other relatives & friends
 
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00amET at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery
 
VISITATION: After 10:30amET on Thursday at the cemetery
 

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy be taken in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.
