Velma Montez Vaughn, 74, of Bowling Green, KY, daughter of Teresa Morales Montez of Tucson, Arizona and the late Eufracio Montez, was born on March 30, 1948 in Morenci, Arizona and departed this life on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Hopkins Center Nursing and Rehab.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended First Christian Church of Bowling Green. She was a bookkeeper, worked part-time at JCPenney, and was also a hairstylist.
Velma united in marriage to James William Vaughn on August 4, 1973 who preceded her in death on October 31, 2015.

2 great-grandchildren: Maxton Whitlow and Ellington Whitlow of Greensburg
1 sister & 2 brothers: Verna Bloodworth, Frank Montez and Edmond Montez all of Arizona
1 sister-in-law & brother-in-law: Betty & Tom Davis of Greensburg

Visitation: Wednesday from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Thursday after 7:00amCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Bennett Cemetery Fund or to the Gideon Bible Fund and can be made at the funeral home.
