Norman D. Christie, Sr., 90, of Campbellsville, KY passed away at his home surrounded by his family on September 13, 2022. He was born in Marion County, KY off the Danville Pike on October 13, 1931, the son of the late Leander Shewmaker Christie and Norman Clelon Christie.
Norman served two tours in the military, Army & Army Air Corp in the Korean Conflict as a medic. Post his military service, Norman owned and operated the LaGwen Diner, was a home builder/contractor and worked for the Kentucky Department of Highways. The majority of his professional career was as a self-employed estate broker and certified real estate appraiser for over 45 years. Norman was a two-time President of the Kentucky Farm Managers and Rural Appraiser’s Society, served on the Campbellsville City Planning and Zoning Board for more than 25 years, and served as a board member for (2) four-year terms at the Taylor County Hospital. He placed great importance on these civic roles in the hopes of making his hometown a better place to live. Lastly, Norman had a remarkable talent to strike up a friendly conversation with anyone anywhere that would talk to him.

4 children: Norman D. Christie, Jr. (Mark Stemple), Debra Ann Waldron (Gary), Elizabeth Isabelle Christie and Thomas Kirkland Christie
8 grandchildren: Commander Ann Morgan MacDonald, Chris Tarter, Kirk Christie, John Christie, Matthew Christie, Amelia Christie, Jeff Waldron and Eric Waldron
7 great-grandchildren: Miles Tarter, Ian Tarter, Luke Tarter, Annsley Tarter, Edwin MacDonald, Maggie MacDonald and James MacDonald
Special niece: Laura Sue Clark
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Christie and his siblings: Bettie Christie (his twin in infancy), Isabelle Brockman, Patricia Smith, Charles Christie and Margaret Blevins.
