Carl Ray Cox, 87, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late William Omar and Laura Mae (Pendygraft) Cox, was born March 3, 1935 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab.
He was a former plumber, a Lieutenant for the Louisville Metro Police Department in the 1980’s and was of the Baptist Faith.
He united in marriage to Ruth Ann (Edelyn) Cox, who preceded him in death.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Cox and 7 brothers & sisters: Earl Cox, Margaret King, William Carroll “Bill” Cox, Charles Cox, Geraldine Cox, Wanda Dennison and June Cox.

7 children: Allen Cox & wife Rebecca of Bardstown, David Cox & wife Tammy and Debra Meyhew both of Louisville, Teresa Hunt of Lebanon, Anna Harris & husband Jody and Danny Cox both of Campbellsville, and Missy Reynolds & husband Jim of Maine
17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; & 6 great-great grandchildren

Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at L.R. Petty Funeral Home with Rev. Freddy Thompson officiating
Burial: St. Francis De Sales Cemetery in the Spurlington Community
Visitation: After 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday
