J.D. PRUITT, GREENSBURG, KY

 

J.D. Pruitt, 86, was born June 12, 1935 in Green County, KY to the late Dallas and Hattie Bagby Pruitt. He departed this life Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Green Hill Rehabilitation and Care in Greensburg.

 

Mr. Pruitt made a profession of faith in Christ in 1962 and was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church where he served as clerk for 50 plus years and served on the board of trustees for several years. He was a United States Airforce Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Green County Fire Department, was on the Green County Library Board, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Green County Historical Society. He was also a member of the Rod Lowe Post 124 American Legion, Greensburg, KY and a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F & AM.

 

SURVIVORS:

His wife of 63 years: Mary Catherine Bradshaw Pruitt

1 daughter: Jaye Alison Pruitt Lee and husband John Lee of Olive Branch, Mississippi

1 sister: Betty McFelia of Greensburg

2 sisters-in-law: Marilyn Pruitt and Beachy Marcum, both of Greensburg

2 grandchildren: Jay Nicholas Lee of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Nicole Catherine Lee Cannon & husband Steven of Concord, New Hampshire

Special grand-dog: Felix

Many Pruitt & Bradshaw nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives & friends

 

Funeral service: Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 10:00amCT at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with John Lee officiating   

 

Burial: Bennett Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veteran’s Honor Guard

 

Visitation: Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pmCT and Wednesday, May 18, 2022 after 7:00amCT

 

Masonic Service: Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 6:30pmCT at the funeral home and will be conducted by Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F & AM.  All Master Masons should meet at the lodge at 5:30pmCT.

 

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to The Gideons Bible Fund. These can be made at the funeral home.
