RUTH CLARK PERKINS, 99, GREENSBURG, KY

Ruth Clark Perkins, 99, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Franklin Porter Clark and Rosa Valera Moran Clark, was born June 19, 1922 in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the Green Hill Rehab & Care Center.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, and was the church historian and served on numerous other committees. She was a lifelong resident of the Thurlow community of Green County. She was a homemaker and an avid genealogist. She was an employee of the Green County Library for more than 40 years. She started the genealogy department of the Library that grew to be a well-known place to come for help on family history. She was also known simply as “Ms. Ruth” to the many researchers who came to the library seeking her help.

She united in marriage to Carl Taylor Perkins on December 18, 1937 who preceded her in death on May 29, 2013. To this union were born five children. In December 2012 they celebrated 75 years of marriage.
