Larry Thompson, 78 of Pikeville, KY passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at his residence. Born December 13, 1943 in Hart County, KY, he was the son of the late Wayne Thompson and Ailene Carter Thompson.
Larry was the owner of Larry Thompson Trucking and Coal River Trucking, hauling to 15 different states, employing 150-175 trucks per day. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army.

1 daughter: Lisa Thompson of Richmond, KY
6 sisters: Marlene Thompson and Barbara Hodges both of TN, Molinda Skaggs of Georgia, Vicki Ziegler of Alabama, Sheila Byrd and Jolene Young both of Glasgow, KY
4 grandchildren: Derek, Aleah, Pat and Victor
Funeral service: Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 10:00amET at the Betsy Layne Free Will Baptist Church in Betsy Layne, KY
Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Paintsville in charge of arrangements.
Graveside service: Saturday at 3:00pmCT (4:00pmET) at the Thompson Family Cemetery in the Hardyville Community of Green County with full Military Honors.
Visitation: Friday from 6:00pm-9:00pmET at the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church
