PHYLLIS ANN BLACK, 77, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Phyllis Ann Black, 77, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Chester Atwood and Retha Sweeden Atwood, was born August 1, 1944 in Casey County, KY and departed this life Monday, March 14, 2022 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

 

She professed her faith in Christ and was a member at Campbellsville Baptist Temple. Phyllis worked as a preschool teacher at Highview Baptist in Louisville, service desk manager at K-mart, and also worked at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. Phyllis was a loving mother, wife, daughter, and grandmother. She also liked to cook and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren the most. She loved all her family and friends dearly.

 

SURVIVORS:

Her husband of 56 years: Jerry Black

1 son: Brian Black & wife Marsha of Campbellsville

3 grandchildren: Chris Black & wife Sarah and Grace Black, both of Campbellsville; Shawn Black and Joel Nault of Louisville

2 great-grandchildren: Karson Black and Kylie Black, both of Campbellsville

2 sisters: Ruby Cox & husband Mac of Elkhorn; Hazel Sroczynski & husband Tom of Liberty

2 brothers: Don Atwood and his wife Brenda and Shearl Atwood, both of Casey County

Special Niece: Donna Carman of Casey County.

Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Earl Atwood, H. Dee Atwood, and Marvin Atwood and 3 sisters: Dorothy Allen and Helen Allen.

 

VISITATION: Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville

 

FUNERAL: Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 1:00pmET at Auberry Funeral Home with Bro. Jase Divens and Bro.Tim Anderson officiating 

 

Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy be taken in the form of donations toward Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.
