Lorene Whitley, 91, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Charlie Callahan and Lottie Herron Callahan, was born February 24, 1931 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 11:03pmET on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Campbellsville. 

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith. Lorene was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after 44 years of service.

She united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” Whitley June 14, 1950 and he preceded her in death October 30, 1988.

1 son & daughter-in-law: Roger & Kathy Whitley of Campbellsville

4 grandchildren: Brad Akridge & wife Regina and Derrick Whitley & wife Felicia of Campbellsville; Lisa Blandford & husband Tommy of Lebanon and Andrea Wood & husband Mark of Russellville

9 great-grandchildren & 5 great-great-grandchildren

2 brothers: Odel Callahan & wife Charlotte of Campbellsville and Rudolf Callahan of Louisville

Several nieces & nephews

Many other relatives & friends

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marla Gale Gilbert September 6, 2021; a son-in-law, Mel Gilbert January 25, 2018 and a brother, Tom Callahan.
