RICHARD AYELETTE "DICKIE" BLAKEMAN, SR, 83, GREENSBURG, KY

 

Richard Ayelette “Dickie” Blakeman, Sr., 83, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Robert E. Blakeman and Elizabeth Sally Durham Blakeman, was born on Thursday, August 25, 1938 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his home. 


He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Fry Baptist Church. Mr. Blakeman was a self-employed building contractor and was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran having served in the United States Army.

 

SURVIVORS:

His wife of 61 years: Connie Lou Keltner Blakeman of Greensburg, KY
2 daughters & sons-in-law: Pamela Ann & Keith Dobson of Greensburg, KY and Kerry & Rick Hornback of Buffalo, KY

1 son & daughter-in-law: Richard & Chrys Blakeman, Jr. of Indiana

Special son: Alan Posey & wife Leona of Green County, KY

8 grandchildren: Niki Mitchell, Tasha Buckner & husband Gary, Allie Jones & husband Jonathan, Tyler Edward Blakeman, Chase Blakeman & fiancé Kayleigh Brewerr, Jacob Curtis Hornback, Beth Ellen Kuntz & husband J.P., and Amanda Dawn Brown & husband John

4 great-grandchildren: Leah Trichelle Buckner, Kacey Paige Buckner, Kayleigh Iris Boley, and Isabella Kate Kuntz

1 brother-in-law & 3 sisters-in-law: Ron Gaunce of Texas, Marlene Blakeman, Pat Blakeman and Judy Blakeman all of Greensburg, KY

A host of nieces, nephews, & other relatives & friends


Mr. Blakeman was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters: Robert “Bobby” Blakeman, Billy Blakeman, Charles Hughett Blakeman, Joe Durham Blakeman, Lynn Taylor Blakeman, Katherine Shuffett, and Lyda Anne Gaunce.

Funeral Service: Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home
 
Burial: Fry Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard

Visitation: Wednesday from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and on Thursday after 7:00amCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home 

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Fry Baptist Church Building Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
