BETTY JANE TUNGATE, 83, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Betty Jane Tungate, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Alvin Barnett and Sarah Margaret Perkins Barnett, was born January 14, 1939 in Larue County, KY. She died at 4:17 P.M., Monday, February 14, 2022 in Lexington.  

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. Betty was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She was a hard worker who enjoyed cooking, canning her garden produce, being a good Christian, but most importantly, she loved her family and was known as a wonderful mother and grandmother.

 

She united in marriage to James “Buford” Tungate July 12, 1958 and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2011.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 daughter & 2 sons: Diane Minor, Tim Tungate & wife Rhonda, and Kerry Tungate & wife Pam all of Campbellsville, KY

7 grandchildren: Emily Keltner & husband Derrick, Candace Altman & husband Zach, Josh Tungate & wife Candace, and Jonathan Leigh & wife Haley, all of Campbellsville,KY; Alex Tungate of Beaver Dam, KY; Maddie Tungate of Lexington, KY; and Spencer Tungate of Durham, North Carolina

5 great-grandchildren: Zak Keltner, Preslee Keltner, Kasen Altman, Isaiah Leigh, and Samuel Leigh

2 brothers: Jerry Barnett & wife Linda, and Kenneth Barnett of Campbellsville

Several nieces & nephews

Many other relatives & friends

 

Betty was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Barnett.

BURIAL: Elk Horn Cemetery

 

VISITATION: Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pmET at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home
