William Benningfield, 82, of Louisville, KY (formerly of Campbellsville), son of the late Elmer Togo Benningfield and Nancy Myrtle Marple Benningfield, was born August 9, 1939 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 12:44 A.M. on Monday, January 10, 2022 in Louisville. 

He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. William served his country honorably in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, working on cars and spending time with his family. 

He united in marriage to Cheryl J. Davis and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2002.

1 daughter: Laurie Byerly of Louisville

5 grandchildren: Steven Caswell, Jenna Beningfield, Brandon Beningfield, Kara Byerly and Megan Caplinger of Louisville

1 sister: Shirley Warren & husband Bob of Louisville

1 sister-in-law: Dottie Benningfield of Indiana

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Caplinger and a brother, Elmer Lee Benningfield.
