Betty Jean Seals, 60, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Bennie Garrett and Lois Gribbins Garrett, was born August 16, 1960 in Taylor County and departed this life peacefully on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, Tennessee.
Betty professed her faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She was a dedicated school teacher for 28 years at Lake Cumberland Head Start in Taylor County. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She united in marriage to James Seals on January 25, 1974, who survives.

1 son: James Seals, Jr., of Campbellsville
12 grandchildren: Bradley Pittman and his wife, Amberly; and Nathaniel Pittman, both of the Merrimac Community; Nicholas Pittman of the Acton Community; Bethany Gunter, Jessica Gunter, and Marissa Gunter, all of Taylor County; Madison Kinser, Grant Kinser, Jaxon Garrett, Aliyah Garrett, and Gage Seals, all of Campbellsville
5 great-grandchildren: Eli Pittman, Lily Pittman, and Sophia Pittman, all of Merrimac Community; AnnLynn Berry and Kara Berry, both of Taylor County
3 sisters: Connie Gribbins & husband George; Evelyn Cox & husband Bobby; and Josephine Newton & husband Roy, all of Campbellsville
2 brothers: Stanley Garrett of the Merrimac Community and Junior Garrett & wife Carol of Indianapolis, Indiana
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters: David Garrett, Hanley Garrett, Juanita Cox, Barbara Tungate, and Jeanette Clements.
