MARY LINDA PENIX, 73, HODGENVILLE, KY


Mary Linda Penix, 73, of Hodgenville, KY, daughter of the late William Crum and Goldie Young Crum was born November 20, 1948 in Martin County and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17,  2021 after a long illness at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.

 

Known by family and friends as 'Linda", she was a native of Inez, Ky and one of 10 children. She was one of the sweetest souls you would ever meet. She had a kindness about her that anyone who met her, felt. She was Co-owner of L & J Cleaning until her retirement in 2000. Linda won the battle against lung cancer three times. She was a small package that handled a lot of tough days without a complaint.  

 

She professed her faith in Christ and was a Baptist.

 

Linda  was united in marriage to Harold "Jack" Penix, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1999.  

  

She was a loving mother of 2 daughters and 1 son: Lois Montgomery, recent widow of Jeff Montgomery of Hodgenville, Rhonda Maynard and companion Jerry Carter of Inez, and her only son, Eddie Mills and wife Tammy of Hodgenville. She loved more than anything her grandchildren: Heather Horn of Inez, Brittany LaGrange and husband Roman of Richmond, Derek Horn and wife Andrea of Shepherdsville, Destiny Montgomery of Hodgenville, Nicole Messer of West Virginia, Marissa Hall of Inez, JR Maynard of Inez, Summer Marcum and Sienna Montgomery both of Campbellsville. 2 brothers and 1 sister: Paul Crum, Cecil Crum and Thelma Whit and husband Junior, all of Campbellsville. She was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren.


Linda was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Thornton Crum, John Hickman, Larry Crum, Norma Harris, Opal Crum and Joyce Henderson. She is also survived by special friend Debbie Robertson, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  

 

VISITATION: Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 5-8 EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville, Kentucky. 

 

FUNERAL: Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 11:00amET at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville, Kentucky. Bro. DeWayne Gibson will be officiating the service.
