JAMES WILLIAM BEAMS, 79, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

James William Beams, 79, of Mac Pitman Road in Campbellsville, KY, son of the late James Arvin Beams and Mary Gladys (Underwood) Beams, was born July 9, 1941 in Taylor County and departed this life peacefully at the Phillips Family Care Home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 17, 2021 in Campbellsville.

 

James professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church. He was retired from Anaconda Wire and Cable in Summersville, KY where he worked in maintenance. He loved to farm in the Old Mac Community and hauled grain in his trucks. James served in the Kentucky National Guard of the 138th Arty.

 

James united in marriage to Brenda Brown on October 19, 1962, and she preceded him in death on August 27, 1966. He later united in marriage to Peggy Jean Warren on December 4, 1992, and she preceded him in death on February 27, 2017.

 

SURVIVORS:

3 daughters: Marcia Underwood & husband Mickey and Cheryl Mings & husband Kevin, both of Campbellsville, KY; Rita Thompson & husband Chris of Elizabethtown, KY

4 grandchildren: Jaycee Mings, Sydney Mings, and Ethan Mings all of Campbellsville, KY; Chayse Thompson of Elizabethtown, KY

1 surviving nephew: Jason Beams of Campbellsville, KY

1step-daughter: Debbie Scott & fiance' Mickey Milby of Greensburg, KY

1 step-son & daughter-in-law: Troy & Patty Skaggs of Allendale

4 step-grandchildren: Noah Scott & Anna Nicholas of Campbellsville, KY; Mason Skaggs & Kenzie Skaggs of Allendale

3 step-great-grandchildren: Livi Nicholas and Drew Nicholas of Campbellsville, KY; Reed Scott of Greensburg, KY

 

James was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Beams in June 2009.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 2:00pmET at Auberry Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY

 

VISITATION: Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 4pm-8pm EST, at Auberry Funeral Home 

 

BURIAL: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens

 

Pallbearers: Kevin Mings, Chris Thompson, Mickey Underwood, Jason Beams, Russell Garrett Skaggs, Bob Milby, and Bill Milby.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Hosparus of Green River or Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.

 

Auberry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
