James W. Southern, 78, of Campbellsville, KY was born in Salisaw, Oklahoma on September 10, 1942 to the late Willard and Loreda (Woods) Southern. He departed this life on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Bluegrass Way Senior Living Center. 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Southern made his living as a heavy equipment operator and was a retired superintendent for the water company and a former construction company owner. His passions in life always seemed to involve hard work and the outdoors, and he especially enjoyed the time he spent farming or hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Sandra Sue (Milby) Southern on May 16, 2017.

1 son: James Southern, Jr. and wife Tammy, and 2 other children

3 siblings: David Southern, Margaret Southern, and Deloris Walls, all of Oklahoma

Funeral Service: Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10:00amET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia, Rd, Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Jason Keltner and Bro. Don Gowin officiating

Burial: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens beside his wife
