MARTIN JAMES "MARTY" KUTEY, 70, RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY

 

Martin James "Marty" Kutey, 70, of Russell Springs, KY and Phoenix, Arizona was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 25, 1950 to the late Raymond John and Mary Celia (Tedesco) Kutey. He departed this life on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home in Phoenix.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Cross Creek Church in Russell Springs. Mr. Kutey was a veteran of the United States Army and earned the right to wear several medals, including a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, during his two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was the former owner of Pinehurst Motel, a proud patriot, and a talented welder and mechanic.

Wife: Susan (Schweizer) Kutey

3 children: Mike Gouin of Livonia, MI; Anthony James “Tony” Kutey & fiance Nicole Baker of Cape Coral, FL; Chelsea Ann Bland & husband Caleb of Campbellsville, KY

1 stepdaughter: Mindy Harris and husband Matt of Somerset, KY

2 brothers: Rudolph “Rudy” Kutey & wife Karen, and Raymond John Kutey, Jr. & wife Liz, both of Michigan

1 sister: Geraldine “Gerri” Kutey of Michigan

1 brother-in-law: John Dougherty of Michigan

8 grandchildren: Rachel Gouin, Kate Gouin, Jake Oaks, Noah Bland, Molly Oaks, Josiah Harris, Ava Bland, & Ryan Bland

1 nephew: Josh Kutey & wife Laura of Michigan

And several other family members and friends

 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Dougherty, and a niece, Heather Kutey.

   

Mr. Kutey had chosen to be cremated. 

 

Memorial Service: Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 1:00pmCT at the Cross Creek Church, 1673 North Main St, Jamestown, KY with Bro. Tony Stephens officiating
 
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, March 6, from 11:00amCT until time for the service
