Whilmina (Nelson) Hughes, 80, was born to Paul H. Nelson and Suzanne (Haselberger) Nelson onJune 25, 1940 in Cumberland, Maryland, and passed away on December 3, 2020 in Leitchfield at the Springview Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Steven E. Hughes.

Whilmina worked at Keech’s Drug Store and Bernstein’s in Cumberland, Maryland, McAlpin’s in  Cincinnati, Ohio, and did accounting and payroll for her husband’s business while working at Maas Brother’s in Fort Myers, Florida. She was the owner of S&W Farm while working as Payroll Secretary for Malban, Inc., a large clothing manufacturer in Georgia. She retired to Greensburg, Kentucky (and Cumberland, Maryland).

Her caretakers and close friends: Samuel and Elaine Alvord

There will be a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery in Cumberland, Maryland.
