ALMA FRANCIS "DO" GUNN, 68, TAYLOR COUNTY, KY

 
Alma Francis Catherine “Do” Embry Gunn, 68, was born August 10, 1952 in Taylor County, KY to the late Samuel Issac Embry and Robert Pauline Patterson. She departed this life Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. 
 
Alma had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Lebanon and served as missionary president and senior choir director. She was also a member of the women’s ministry, usher board, and women in white. She worked as the youth director for many years as well. She taught Sunday school, bible school, and recently drove the van for the church youth programs. She was a part of the Red Hat Group and Old Time Rock and Roll Group of Campbellsville. She also loved decorating the church for every occasion. She took pride in making delicious desserts for her church family and wore the prettiest hats. She obtained her associates degree at Lindsey Wilson College and was a social worker at the Christian Care Community, Adanta, and Brass. She was united in marriage to her husband Gilbert Lee Gunn, Sr. 
 
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Linda Gunn.
 
SURVIVORS:
2 sons: Timothy Embry, Michael Embry & wife Samantha both of Greensburg
2 daughters: Tori Embry and Melissa Embry both of Louisville, KY
9 stepchildren: Franseda Gunn, Gilbert Gunn Jr. & wife Shelia, Chris Gunn & wife Lynn, Katie Gunn, Lucy Gunn, Nancy Gunn, Pam Hurringan & husband Lee, all of Lebanon, KY; Bradley Gunn & wife Tanja of Willisburg, KY; John Gunn & wife Yvonne of New Albany Indiana
3 brothers: Roy Dolphus Embry & wife Naomi, and Sam Embry, Jr. both of Greensburg, KY; Jerry Embry of Aurora, Illinois
2 sisters: Maryetta Newby & husband Marvin, Janie Hendricks & husband James, both of Greensburg, KY
9 grandchildren; 45 step grandchildren; 47 step great-grandchildren

Funeral Service: Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1:00pmET at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Calhoun, Eulogy and Rev. David Mitchell, Master of Ceremony
 
Walk-Thru Visitation: 5:00pm-8:00pmET on Friday and after 7:00amET on Saturday 
 
Burial: Green County Memory Gardens
