DR. DAVID SIMMONS, 57, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Dr. David G. Simmons, 87,  of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his home. Born in Green County on August 18, 1933 to the late Austin and Reba (Hill) Simmons.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith and attended The Rock Church in Campbellsville. Dr. Simmons was a graduate of Green County High School, the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, and had attained the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force. His generous heart will be dearly missed by those who knew him best.

 

SURVIVORS:

Wife: Catina (Rooker) Simmons

5 children: Sherrie Pate & husband Derrel, Lisa Brown & husband Eddie, Cindy Springer & husband Kenneth, Leeann Hernandez & husband Mark, and Karol Joyce Simmons

5 step-children: Corey Tyler Caldwell, Hannah Elizabeth Faith Frazier, Riley Grace Simmons, Zakhi “Ki” Elijah Simmons, and Zakari “Kari” Simmons
9 Grandchildren: David Pate & wife MeLisa, Melissa Smith & husband Casey, Rebecca Hood & husband Austin, Michael Brown & companion Taylor Cauthon, Clint Brown, Ashley Springer, Lindsey LaBlanc & husband Jake, Elizabeth Springer & companion Eric Clinebell, Evan Hernandez

1 step-grandchild: Greyson Trey Frazier

8 Great-grandchildren: Olivia Pate, Eli Pate, Aubrey Smith, Ben Smith, and Preston Smith, Dax Brown, Charlee LaBlanc, and Harper LaBlanc

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter: Britany Brockman.

   
Funeral Service: Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Jeff Newton officiating. The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.

 

A private burial will be in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 13, from 12:00 PM until time for the service.
