Lonnie Dale Carter, 68, of Clayton, Georgia, son of the late Cornish M. "Pete" Carter and Pauline Patterson Carter, was born September 7, 1952 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Friday, October 16, 2020 at his home.
Lonnie had made a profession of faith in Christ. He was retired from Fruit of the Loom, Inc. in Research and Development after 32 years of service. Lonnie was also a veteran having served in the United States Army, and member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124.
Mr. Carter was also preceded in death by a brother: Sammy Carter.

Wife of 50 years: Martha Lou Wiegel Carter of Georgia
1 son and 1 daughter: Patrick Carter and Lacy Carter both of Georgia
4 grandchildren: Kailey Carter, Marcus Carter, Paxton Carter, and Jax Jackson Carter all of Georgia
2 brothers: Rev. Jerry Carter of Owensboro, KY and Paul Carter of Bowling Green, KY

Burial: Bennett Cemetery with full military honors
Walk-Thru Visitation: 4:00pm-7:00pmCT on Monday at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7:00amCT on Tuesday
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bennett Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
