Vernon Eugene "Fireball" Bass, 84, of Mason City, Illinois, son of the late Robert Conley Bass and Leora Malissia Smith Bass, was born on April 28, 1936 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Friday, September 18, 2020 at his home.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and also the Mason City Christian Church in Illinois. He was a former funeral assistant for Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and also for Cain-Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City.
Mr. Bass was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers: Leora Pickett, Maggie Gupton, May Furkin, Virginia McConnico, Dick Bass, and Marvin Bass.

Funeral Service: Friday, September 25, 2020 at 1:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Riley officiating
Burial: Ebenezer Cemetery in Green County
Visitation: 4:00pm-7:00pmCT on Thursday and after 7:00amCT on Friday
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Ebenezer Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.
