FRANKLIN DEA WRAY, 82, GREEN COUNTY

 
Franklin Dea Ray, 82, of Greensburg, KY son of the late Albert Ray, Sr. and Pearl Whitehead Ray, was born September 4, 1937 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, and was a farmer.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Minor Ray on July 21, 2007 having united in marriage on September 22, 1956.
 
SURVIVORS: 2 sons & daughters-in-law: Mike and Peggy Sue Ray, Lloyd and Sheila Ray all of Greensburg; 4 daughters & sons-in-law: Brenda and William Rose, Betty and Tommy Curry all of Greensburg, Debi and David Newton, and Tina and Mark Meece all of Campbellsville; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 half-brothers: Albert "June Bug" Ray and Larry Ray both of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
 
Mr. Ray was also preceded in death by a son: David Alan Ray on January 14, 2015; a grandson: Michael Steven Ray on July 26, 2020; three brothers and three sisters: James Ray, Twyman Ray, Leslie W. "Bill" Ray, Sally Walker, Alene Underwood, and Nora Coast; three half-brothers: Mickey Ray, William Ray, and Ronnie Ray; a step-sister: Helen Wright.

Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Tabernacle Cemetery. Bro. Jon Curry officiating.
 
Walk-Thru Visitation: 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Saturday at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Sunday until time of the funeral service. Due to Covid-19, please continue to practice social distancing.
 
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
