Lloyd David “Sparky” Gabbert, 59, of Campbellsville, KY (formerly of Soddy Daisy and Birchwood, Tennessee) passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his home. He was born May 16, 1961 to the late Samuel Odell Gabbert & Lila Mae (Price) Martin.
Mr. Gabbert was a retired over-the-road truck driver and was of the Southern Baptist faith. He served his country honorably as a soldier in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany and Korea during the Cold War era. He loved making people laugh, and didn’t care at all if it was at his expense - or yours. Mr. Gabbert was a loyal friend to many and will be deeply cherished for generations.
He was also preceded in death by his chosen parents: Roger Beams and Mary Lou Graham; and 7 siblings: Paula Fay Cox, Rita Mae Hafley, Michelle Shaw, Marlene Bell, Charlene Brockman, Juanita Morgeson, and Jessie Gabbert.
SURVIVORS:
2 children: Christopher Gabbert of Bardstown, and David Allen Gabbert and wife Jessica of Campbellsville
3 siblings: Frieda Ray Wash of Nicholasville, Melinda LaFollette of Hodgenville, and James Corbin and wife Debbie of Campbellsville
A friend he loved as a brother: Rondall Beams and wife Hope of Greensburg
Niece, nephew, & caretakers: Travis & Karen Corbin of Campbellsville
7 grandchildren

Several friends, both locally and in Tennessee
Funeral Service: Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 12:00pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Darrell Ford officiating
Interment: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery
Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation: The family will receive friends for a walk-through visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 18, from 10:00 AM EST until time for the service.
Current social distancing guidelines will be in effect.
