JAMES EDWARD WAYNE, 85, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

James Edward Wayne, 85, of Campbellsville, KY son of the late Benjamin Turner Wayne and Annie Mae Deener Wayne, was born December 23, 1934 in Taylor County, KY.  He died at 5:52 A.M., Monday, July 27, 2020 in Campbellsville.       
 
James accepted Christ as a young child and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard out of high school. He was a lifelong farmer who took great pride in his tobacco crop and growing watermelons for his family and workers.  James was very active in Farm Bureau and served on the board for many years.
 
James united in marriage to Lucy Watkins June 15, 1958 and she preceded him in death December 23, 2019.    
 
SURVIVORS:
1 son and 1 daughter: Randy Wayne and wife Sharon of Campbellsville, KY; Patty Price and husband Randall of Flowery Branch, Georgia
5 grandchildren: Daniel Wayne and wife Hope and David Wayne and wife Lindsay of Campbellsville, KY; Ashley Cole and husband Doug of Sugar Hill, Georgia; Amanda Welton and husband Tyler of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee; Abigail Logan and husband Trey of Atlanta, Georgia
9 great-grandchildren: Liam Cole, Lucas Cole, Canon Welton, Lucy May Wayne, Luke Wayne, Lyric Welton, Emma Welton, Robbie Scanlon and wife Sharon and Adalyn Wayne
3 great-great-grandchildren: Brooklyn,  Brantley and Johnathon Scanlon
1 sister: Marjorie Sheets of Perryville
Many other relatives and friends
 
James was also preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Lee Wayne and two sisters: Barbara Johnson and Pauline Wayne.
