SAMUEL LEE CRAWLEY, 88, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Samuel Lee Crawley, 88, of Campbellsville, KY son of the late Dennis Wilmore Crawley and Isla May Hunt Crawley, was born November 26, 1931 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 8:00 A.M. on Monday, May 18, 2020 in Campbellsville.
 
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for several years. He was also the sound system engineer for the Church’s music. Samuel served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was a retired employee of General Telephone Company.
 
He united in marriage to Margaret Faye Gupton April 30, 1952 and she preceded him in death October 2, 1984. He later united in marriage to Kay Frances Cravens Underwood May 23, 1985 and she preceded him August 3, 2018.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: D. W. Crawley, Jr., J. B. Crawley, Elizabeth Crawley England and Rebecca Beams.
 
Samuel loved rockhounding and making lovely jewelry, yard work, fishing, and doing anything that involved being outdoors. Hobbies also included working on electronics and traveling.
 
SURVIVORS:
2 daughters: Connie Wise & husband Brian, and Phyllis Gruver & husband Larry of Campbellsville; 1 step-son: John Underwood & wife Lisa of Greensburg; 7 grandchildren: Angella Watson & husband Craig of Columbia, Nick Wise & wife Robyn, Jason Gruver, Stacy Morris & husband Kyle of Louisville; Thomas Wise & wife Alison of Nashville, TN, Rachel Keeton & husband Will of Lexington, Scott Gruver & wife Xiufeng of Boston, Massachusetts; 1 step-granddaughter: Erin Arnett & husband Ryan of Greensburg; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
