Celia Opal McQueary, 94, the daughter of the late Aaron & Mattie (Caldwell) Cheek, was born August 2, 1925 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Campbellsville, KY at her home.
She was a former grocery store owner and operator in Campbellsville and was a faithful member of the Campbellsville First Church of God.
She united in marriage to Woodruff McQueary in 1944, who preceded her in death on August 6, 1993.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Hazel Woody, Ethyl Barnett, Bonnie Grant, Vena McQueary, Leonard Cheek and Ray Cheek.
SURVIVORS: 1 daughter and 1 son: Phyllis Murphy & husband Joe and Terry McQueary & wife Beverley, all of Campbellsville; 1 sister: Pauline Patten of Campbellsville; 3 grandchildren: Shane Murphy, Adam McQueary & wife Maci and Amanda McQueary all of Campbellsville; a host of other relatives and friends.
All services will be private with Bro. Evan Tedder officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the First Church of God in Campbellsville.
