Lemuel Read, 67, of Campbellsville, KY son of the late Archie Read and Mabel Reynolds Warren, was born February 28, 1953 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 5:00 P.M., Friday, April 17, 2020 in Campbellsville.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Lemuel was a retired employee of Kentucky Utilities and owner of Stephens Shoe Store in Russell Springs. Lemuel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and brother-in law. His granddaughters remarked that he was a traditional grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and “good old buddies.” He was an avid golfer and also loved to fish.
He united in marriage to Janey Holmes June 29, 1975.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Janey Read of Campbellsville, KY; 1 son & daughter-in-law: Jonathan & Jessalyn Read of Campbellsville, KY; 2 grandchildren; 1 sister: Karlene Read & husband Dwight Abel of Campbellsville, KY; Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Judy & Jimmy Jones, Danny Holmes, Terry Holmes and Pam & Jerry Russell of Campbellsville, KY, Sam Holmes and Jerry & Nancy Holmes of Indiana, Linda & Edward Sharpe of Greensburg, KY and Ronnie Holmes of Arizona.
