REV. CHARLES TAYLOR, 71, DANVILLE (FORMERLY OF TAYLOR CO.)

 
Rev. Charles L. Taylor, 71, was born February 12, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Richard Theodore Taylor and Loraine Hill Taylor. He departed this life Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home in Danville, KY.
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a minister and member of Mid KY Presbytery, Presbyterian Church USA.  He was ordained as a minister December 21, 1976.  He served at Latta Presbyterian Church, Latta, SC, Pee Dee Presbyterian Church, Dillon, SC, Peterson Presbyterian Church, Columbia, SC, Effingham Presbyterian Church, Effingham, SC, Bethel First Presbyterian Church, Campbellsville, KY, Patterson Memorial Presbyterian Church, Guston, KY and Greensburg Presbyterian Church, Greensburg, KY.  He had a Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Presbyterian College, Clinton, SC.  1971, Master of Divinity, Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, GA, 1976.  He was a member of the Rotary Club, Past President and Past Member (Latta, Campbellsville, and Greensburg).  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings:  Barbara Jean Taylor Gamble, Jacky Howard Taylor and Harry Truman Taylor
 
SURVIVORS:  Wife: Regina Ann DuBose Taylor; 3 children: Rebekah Denise Taylor, Mary Frances Wise and Ashley Meredith Godsey; 7 grandchildren: Elizabeth Wise, Lillian Wise, Mersadiez Gebler, Gracelyn Gebler, Olivia Godsey, Wyatt Godsey and Hailey Gebler; 2 sons-in-law: Lucas Wise and Matthew Godsey; a host of other relatives and friends.
 
Funeral Service: 11:00amET, Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Presbyterian Church of Danville, 500 W Main St., Danville, KY with Rev. Caroline Kelly, Rev. Joseph Pusateri & Rev. John Odom officiating
 
Burial: Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY with Military Honors
 
Visitation: After 9:00amET on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020 at the church
 
Pallbearers: Bill Patterson, Bob Tharp, Mike Madison, Matt Godsey, Luke Wise, & Tom Kelly
 
Honorary Pallbearers: Paul Johnson, Dr. Eugene Shively, Dr. Jim Ewing, & Mike Mills
 
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Salvation Army or to the American Cancer Society. These can be made at the church or Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
