LEBANON, Ky. (April 27, 2026) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 Troopers were requested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to respond to a two-vehicle injury collision, just before 5 A.M. EDT this morning, on US 68 (Danville Highway) in Marion County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Mahalia Brown, 43, of Magnolia, Mississippi, was traveling west on US 68 in a 2018 Toyota Camry. Ms. Brown crossed the centerline and entered the eastbound lane of US 68 into the path of a 2018 Kenworth dump truck traveling east on US 68, operated by Christopher Perkins, 49, of Campbellsville. Mr. Perkins attempted to avoid a collision by braking and steering, but was unable to do so, and the two vehicles collided in a head-on manner.
Mahalia Brown, along with a passenger in her vehicle, Benjamin Thompson, 20, of Magnolia, Mississippi, were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marion County Coroner. A second passenger in Ms. Brown’s vehicle, Darian Thompson, 22, of Magnolia, Mississippi, was transported to Spring View Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Christopher Perkins was also transported ot Spring View Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
KSP Post 15 Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Marion County EMS, Lebanon Fire Department, Gravel Switch Fire Department and the Marion County Coroner’s Office. Detective Weston Sullivan is investigating the collision.
