On September 23rd, 2024, officers from the Greensburg Police Department were dispatched to the area of South First Street in response to a report of a stolen vehicle.
Upon arrival, LT. French and Chief Judd identified a 2023 Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen in California.
Their investigation led them to Gloria Smith, a resident of 115 South First Street, who had an active arrest warrant for attempted murder in California.
Despite multiple attempts to contact Ms. Smith at her residence, officers were unsuccessful. It was determined through investigation that Ms. Smith was in the home with a large dog.
With the assistance of the Green County Sheriff's Office and Green County Dog Warden, officers entered the home and took Ms. Smith into custody without incident.
