The Adair County Sheriff's Department responded to the 5400 block of Speck Ridge Road in Elk Horn Friday evening and according to sheriff Josh Brockman preliminary investigation determined William Thomas Brown age 61 of Elk Horn was at his home working on his 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, it was determined that Brown used a hydraulic bottle jack and a piece of wood to lift the vehicle off the ground and upon Brown getting under the vehicle, the weight of the vehicle shifted causing the bottle jack to lean and vehicle then fell pinning Brown beneath the vehicle it.
William Thomas Brown of Elk Horn was pronounced deceased at the scene, the incident occured on the Adair/Taylor County line and was investigated by the Adair County Sheriffs Department.
In addition to Deputies, Adair County Coroner Todd Akin, Adair County EMS, Knifley Volunteer Fire Department, and Campbellsville Taylor County EMS responded to the scene.
