Campbellsville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a report of a working structure fire Monday just before 6pm. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy flames coming out of one apartment and heavy smoke coming out of the entire complex. A second alarm was initiated due to potential life safety issues, heavy fire conditions and heat considerations for rotating personnel. Firefighters made an interior attack while other firefighters were searching and evacuating the other units. Firefighters extinguished the fire and provided overhaul. No firefighters or civilian injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is related to smoking materials and is being investigated by the Campbellsville Police Department. Nine occupants were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
